This fall, Humber Polytechnic’s DigiPod Network is producing a podcast series exploring how communities, policies, and innovations can better support the aging populations and those who care for them. This podcast is part of a student-led project in Product Management (MGMT 4002), where fourth-year students apply real-world product development skills to podcasting.
Each episode will feature a deep dive into one of five themes drawn from national and global reports on aging:
- Where We Live: Homes, neighbourhoods, and communities that support aging well.
- How We Stay Healthy: Evolving health and care systems that meet the needs of older adults and their caregiving team.
- The Role of Technology: Tools and innovations shaping healthy daily life, social and financial well-being.
- Staying Connected: Building social connections, inclusion, and community belonging.
- Money & Policy Resources: Financial systems, policies, and proactive planning for an aging society.
Podcast Guests (Fall 2025)
Guests may include small business owners, entrepreneurs, policy experts, caregivers, innovators, designers, and individuals with lived experience who bring unique perspectives to one of the five themes.
Our podcast guests share insights to bridge research, lived experience, and professional practice, sparking conversations that matter for current and future generations, and inspiring students to explore new ideas, identify emerging needs, or imagine business opportunities that support aging well in our communities.
How We Collaborate With Guests
Each video podcast is created by a student team responsible for planning, research, and production. Once a guest has been confirmed for a specific theme, here’s what to expect:
- Pre-Interview Planning: A team member will reach out to schedule a discovery call. During the call, the team will share their draft concept, episode goals, and potential questions to co-develop a conversation that feels authentic and meaningful.
- Logistics & Podcast Recording: We will confirm a preferred video recording format (virtual or in-person, depending on availability), timeline, and tech requirements.
- Timeframe: Recording sessions are planned between mid-September and mid-November, based on guest availability and project timelines.
- Consent & Acknowledgment: All guests will complete a brief consent form, and are welcome to review the episode before publication.
Our approach is collaborative, guests are invited to bring their voice and values to a shared learning experience.
Looking Ahead (Winter 2026)
The Fall 2025 series introduces a larger initiative launching in Winter 2026, supported by a grant that allows us to engage students in deeper research, production, and community outreach.
Thank you for considering joining us in this exciting journey!
