From “social circulation” to “resident animators,” discover how spaces across Canada are being reimagined to keep communities connected and thriving.


Episode Zero: The Social Prescription for Aging: How Buildings Can Battle Loneliness

A short, heartfelt introduction to The Social Prescription for Aging. This episode explores groundbreaking research showing how intentional design in multi-unit housing can combat social isolation, especially as we age. A short, engaging intro episode to hook listeners, alongside Nadia Abuseif & Sue Lantz. An emotional first glimpse into how architecture can connect hearts!

About our guests: Sue Lantz is a former Ontario public servant and senior care leader with deep expertise in the needs and challenges of seniors and their families and caregivers. She currently leads a social purpose consulting organization, Collaborative Aging, that delivers educational workshops that improve the aging journey for older adults and their caregivers, focusing on a 5-part framework that includes Health, Housing, Social Connection, Caregiving, Finances & Other Resources. In partnership with Humber Polytechnic, they are researching and designing navigable ways to scale their educational content to reach broader audiences. Nadia Abuseif is a consultant working with Sue on this scaling challenge and brings strong service design and design foresight expertise to this work.
